Well, Moore’s Law is alive and well in East Sussex.
Bizarre as it may seem, this wee system is more powerful than anything I’ve ever owned before. I’m going to make the next 3 Frost* albums on this little lot.

Losers’ Pledge Campaign is now up and running. Myself and the band have poured our hearts and souls into the project over the last 2 years and it’s great that finally it’s starting to get heard. The response has been fantastic already so thank you to everybody who’s already pledged and is getting involved. I think there were a few tears of relief yesterday at Losers HQ. They’re headlining at Proud, Camden on July 11th to celebrate.
I may even drink beer.

Blunders has done the new arrangement of Gadget Show theme! Check it, 8pm on Monday nights, Channel 5. Top wallop!

Spent a portion of this evening designing some new sounds for the Streetly Tapes expansion pack to accompany and indeed empower GForce Software’s wonderfully life affirming M-Tron Pro synth. There’s more to do, but here’s a taste of what I did last time for the similarly excellent ChamberTron expansion pack.
Friend of Frost* and all round top human being Chloe Alper has just released this wonderful, beautiful and unnerving video called “Leaf”. Top top stuff. - Double click for full screen.

Biblical sky here last night.
I spent yesterday mixing for the DVD and it is sounding jolly good actually. I’ve come to the conclusion that we make quite a good noise when all the elements are correctly balanced, we can hear ourselves properly and we play most of the notes in the right order.
This leads me nicely to the subject of gigging, or rather the lack of it. We’ve decided to put the live band on hiauts for a while. I know we hardly gig at all anyway, but that’s largely to do with the amount of effort it involves on a singular basis. Celebr8 was a bit of a low point for us for various reasons and I now realise that one off shows don’t make a great deal of sense in many ways, therefore we’ll be looking to get involved with a proper booking agency and putting together something like a couple of week long tours with greater production values that stretch a bit further afield than Surrey when the time comes. We’re desperate to get back out to Europe first of all as we’ve neglected our friends out there for far too long and hopefully we can venture even further than that too. I’ve always wanted to do a gig in South America as well as Japan…
Before that though, the main focus is getting these new albums made. Johnson De La Mitchell will be swinging by in a couple of weeks’ time for a few days of writing which will be very good. The last time he was here we wrote Heartstrings so we’ve got form on things going well. I’m also about to rip out the heart of The Cube and replace it with a shiny new one. My trusty, well loved and much used ProTools 8 system - custodian of things like The Dividing Line, Fanfare For The Common Man and the entire Losers album is being put out to pasture and replaced with a shiny new ProTools HDX rig. It also gives me a chance to redesign the place a bit and give my workflow a Brazilian.
In fact the only thing not looking forward to this new era is my credit card.
